Brook Green
Brook Green
Brook Green has been very popular for quite some time now. It is an area that has ready established gentrification. A 16th century hamlet that developed because of industrialisation, it has grown into this desirable village style area in west London. It still has the brook it was named after running under the centrally located Brook Green Hotel.
It is very central being just west of Kensington and Holland Park. Its namesake green is small but provides a welcome green space and play area for nearby families and dog walkers. The primarily Victorian buildings, some houses others split into flats, are on tree lined streets and appeal to a wide range of tastes including many French, Italian and increasingly Chinese ex-pats. There is a small but lovely, selection of independently run restaurants, cafés and shops located on Blyth Road, in the centre of the area as well as a good selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket along the Shepherds Bush Road, on the west side. There is also a large supermarket with underground parking but also a short walk from the residential homes in Brook Green area. Also walking distance to Shepherd’s Bush and Hammersmith, Brook Green provides plenty of amenities as well as excellent public transportation.
